Hollywood's brightest stars and industry executives came together not only to celebrate the dreams that are created within the entertainment industry, but also, to ensure that such dreams can be possible for our children's futures as well. This black tie event took place at The Beverly Hilton and included a delicious dinner designed by two culinary masterminds; celebrity chef Stefano Tedeschi of Stefano's Italian Grille, and Suki Sugiura, Executive Chef at The Beverly Hilton, which was enjoyed as partygoers watch the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. During dinner, CUN founder Daphna Ziman presented special awards to an elite group of community, national and global heroes who have changed the lives of children in the past year. Poker pro and eleven-time World Series of Poker champion Phil Hellmuth Jr. co-hosted the CUN Celebrity Poker Contest with actor Miguel Nunez, which was directed by Yosh Nakano, President of the International Poker Players Association.

Children Uniting Nations extended their heartfelt appreciation to Aqua Hydrate, La Tavola, Presidential Inner Circle and Stefano's Italian Grille for their support at this year's event. CUN also hosted a silent and live auction, which featured special packages and once in a lifetime experiences donated by some very recognizable names in music, TV, film and sports. 100% of the proceeds raised go to support CUN's programs for foster children and at risk youth.

About Children Uniting Nations

Children Uniting Nations (www.childrenunitingnations.org) has the largest and most far-reaching mentoring program for Los Angeles foster children. CUN has made tremendous strides by encouraging legislation to improve foster care and adoption laws; introducing legislation to forgive student loans in exchange for mentoring, and expanding their mentoring training. Children Uniting Nations DOC is the community's way of letting foster children know that someone cares by providing mentors for the day. Once a mentor is signed up, they are paired at the event with a foster child and guided through a day of meaningful fun and bonding. About Children Uniting Nations

CUN is a proactive organization created to bring attention to the plight of at-risk and foster youth. The goal is to reach as many children in out-of-home care by offering role-model support, guidance, a sense of community and promote the importance of an education. Inspired by the Day of the Child, CUN wanted mentoring to be more accessible to children living in foster care and therefore created a mentoring program to be administered in every city nationwide. Pioneered in Los Angeles, CUN's central mentoring program known as the Mentoring Partnership for Los Angeles Youth (mPLAY) has become the model program for the rest of the country. Children Uniting Nations continues to support and make possible the efforts of mPLAY by providing advocacy, funding, producing large-scale recruitment events and serving as the fiscal agent to the partnership. mPLAY is dedicated to providing children in the foster care system with highly trained mentors that are compassionate, steadfast and have an unconditional desire to give of themselves in order to make a positive difference in the lives of our most vulnerable children. CUN was founded by philanthropist and activist, Daphna Ziman. ________________________________________________________________________

Ideum announces the installation of an ultra-wide screen multitouch table based on its commercially available MT-50 multi-touch, multi-user table.

With a 100" surface and an 86" viewable area is it among one of the largest contiguous multitouch tables ever developed. The screen has a 16 X 5 ratio aspect and a display resolution of 2304 X 800 pixels.

Developed for the Space Chase Gallery at the Adventure Science Center, it is one of several technology-enhanced exhibits Ideum has deployed at the Nashville, Tennessee-based hands-on science center. The exhibition opens to the public on November 7th.

The table can support over 50 simultaneous touch points, allowing several people to interact with the table at the same time. Its rugged design makes it perfect for a busy hands-on science center. In addition, the table is only 31" tall, meeting ADA standards for wheel chair accessibility.

The custom software was developed with Adobe Flash and Ideum's own GestureWorks framework, which allows Flash developers to easily develop their own custom multi-touch applications. GestureWorks will be available for sale to other developers in early December.
