8th Annual L.A. Times Food Bowl presented by City National Bank

Paramount Studios was taking over by the L.A. Times Food Bowl, a three day food adventure over the weekend, showcasing the city’s top restaurants, live cooking demonstrations, top spirits to try out and plenty of fun music to dance too.

Friday, September 20th: Restaurant of the Year and Gold Awards, celebrated Baroo (the 2024 Restaurant of the Year) and Mariscos Jalisco (the Gold Award honoreer), both of whom offered curated bites to all guests, plus exclusive samples.

Participant highlights: Amiga Amore, Azizam, Cento, Jitlada, Luv2Eat Thai Bistro, Perilla LA, Mírate and more.
Live performances: Cooking demonstrations by Josh Scherer (“The Mythical Cookbook”) and Di Di’s Tue Nguyen aka Twaydabae, just to name a few.

Saturday, September 21st highlights and demonstrations:

 

1.Tamron Hall & Lish Steiling – When Tamron Hall and Lish Steiling first met while working at the “Today” show, they never imagined their friendship would lead to so many adventures. Demonstrated and discussed“A Confident Cook,” their new cookbook aimed to empower those just beginning to cook. Book signing followed.

2.William Tew & Adrienne Borlongan

Cathay Pacific’s culinary design chef William Tew joined by Adrienne Borlongan, the flavor chemist behind Wanderlust Creamery and author of “Wanderlust Creamery Presents: The World of Ice Cream,” for an exploration of the sweet and savory flavors of Hong Kong. Book signing followed.

3.Owen Han

Coined the ‘King of Sandwiches’ on TikTok, Owen is a chef and culinary content creator with over 7 millions fans tuning in daily to see his latest take on Michelin-quality sandwiches. Pre-order “Stacked: The Art of the Perfect Sandwich” guests received a bookplate signed by Owen after the demo.
